For the non-profit poster series I chose to create posters for the Alzheimer’s Association.  The association was founded in 1980 and is a voluntary organization that specializes in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.  Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. The disease progressively gets worse.  I chose this organization because I believe that the mind and memory is one of the worst things a person can lose and I had a great grandfather who suffered from the disease. The posters take the idea of “foggy memory” when someone cannot remember something by covering a recognizable image that represents an aspect in someone’s life with a cloudy effect.  It would appear as though the image would eventually be overcome by the clouds leading to “forgotten”.  The text is also written in a cloudy style so that it too appears to eventually disappear. With these posters I hope that those who see them would connect to at least one and feel that they would not want to forget that aspect, leading to assisting the organization.
